How long before a payment on our account shows up?

I posted a payment on my account this morning about 6:10 AM central time and as of now it still has not shown up on my account balance. Is there a delay between making the payment on the account and when it is posted or is it suppose to be somewhat instant?
Thanks

  • Michael. I was about to pay my balance. I don't see where I can pay it with Paypal.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks
  • Michael:
I have a record of your payment, but I also have a notice that there was an error in the automatic processing, so it was flagged for manual processing. I'm currently reviewing this, and I believe it had to do with the & symbol in your PayPal account' business name. This caused an issue for some reason on our end. However, we'll get this corrected shortly.

    Patrick:
In general, your selling fees will be charged to your credit card on file, but there is an alternative:

When you sell on HipStamp, final value fees are added to your account balance (the same as bidStart). At any time you can pay your current balance, or credit your account in general via PayPal. The only one difference is that on bidStart if you made a payment in the current month your credit card won't be charged, and at HipStamp we charge your credit card on the first of the month if you have an outstanding balance at that time (or if your balance with us is over $250). So as long as you credit your account via PayPal sufficiently to ensure you don't have a balance on the first of the month - your card would not be charged.

If this is what you'd like to do, I'd simply recommend you put in enough to ensure you won't have a balance on the first of the month. For example, if you owed $25 on April 30, I'd recommend putting in $35 just to ensure you cover any fees through the following day. Any money you add will stay in your account balance for future use.
  • Thanks Mark

I think I'll just leave it as is & let you deduct my balance due from my card, there'll always be enough to cover any balance.

I've had one sale on BS since the 1st of the month :( ....Just sold about half a dozen items on Hipstamp yesterday :)

Might I make a suggestion? Could "maps" be listed in "topics" also? as I know quite a few people whose topic that is.

My thanks again....It really is 2005 all over again :)

    Patrick
  • Thanks Patrick. I want to review all the topics soon, so I'll make a note of that.
  • Thanks Mark,

I forgot that that the & symbol was in my store name.
  • Just paid my account and it went to Hipcomic.
    Hope this is OK
  • Mark, I paid mine yesterday and it hasn't shown up as of this morning. Back to the original question... is there a natural delay for the payment to be recognized, or was mine hung up needing manual assistance, too? I prefer to use my Paypal versus charging my CC.
  • My account also isn't show a credit. Albeit, I did pay early this morning. Just wanted you to know so my credit card is not used.
  • OK Mark. It looks like you processed my balance on credit card despite me paying you in advance by Paypal. You need to fix this bud. Before any other bells and whistles. How you handle peoples' money matters.

I'm sure Mark is working on it.
  • Hi Doug/Luree,

I apologize for any confusion here. Rest assured that if you paid via PayPal (and covered your entire balance) your credit card will not be charged, and that the amount you paid via PayPal should now correctly show in your account history, which you can review from Members > My Account > Account History.

Your credit card may reflect a pending charge, but you won't actually be charged, it will either disappear, or you'll see a second pending charge that the first one is cancelled. I've updated this process today so that you won't see any such pending charges again in the future.
  • Thanks Mark. The payment now shows. But I don't show anything that looks like an account balance.
  • When you sign into HipStamp the first page you're brought to is the Members Area - Summary page. It's the same page you can make a PayPal payment from. You should see your account balance (or credit) there.
  • OK, it was just inconsistent, as I was looking at a different screen. The summary page shows the balance as you said, but the "Account History" shows DEBIT, CREDIT and PAYMENT, and you have to do the math to get the balance there. That's what I was reacting to.
  • I'll make a note to add it there as well.
  • Mark I think your accountants need to retake Finance 101..
Summary page shows a credit of $1.52
When I go into "Account History" I come up with a debit of $0.48
  • The information on the Account History is correct - it's showing you the total amount of fees (debit) you've incurred with us, and any credits we've applied to your account, as well as any payments. That's not your current account balance (that would be if you added those 3 things together) as Doug pointed out. We'll add it to that page as well shortly to avoid any confusion.
  • I've update this section so it should be more clear now.
  • OK Mark lets try again

On my Accounts History page - at the top
    You show debits of $21.71
Credit of $1.35 leaving a total debit of $20.36

    I have paid $18.80
Leaving a total debit of $1.56

You show that I have a credit of $0.44 not a debit of $1.56
Am I not reading this right?
  • Mark,

I had made a payment on my account and it's not showing up yet. (It was made on July 9th) When you get a chance.

    Thanks
  • Michael,

Your PayPal payment has been applied to your account. Let me know if you need anything else.
  • Thanks Mark,

Right now the only thing I can think of is the question about the SG sync with Bidstart that I asked on the Is Hipstamp open? thread.
