Oscar Selton Drake, Jr., 20, used when he was wounded in the invasion of Sicily. Her son later received the Purple Heart. Among other souvenirs Mrs. Drake received from her son was an American Flag Armband bearing the dates of his two jumps, July 10 and September 10, and the creed of a parachutist. Mrs. Drake also received word yesterday that another son, PFC. Roy Kenneth Drake, 18, had finished a course in demolition engineering in the Marine Corps and had been sent to a California Post for further instruction."
Oscar left the war September 22 1945.
He died on June 7 1980 and is buried in Nashville National Cemetery in Madison, Davidson County, Tennessee
