SNW0201 This is an antique 1866 full Victorian letter with Penny Red from the agent to Sir Joseph Russell Bailey MP of Herefordshire and from Wales (Joseph Russell Bailey was the second Baronet of Glanusk Park before becoming the MP for Herefordshire). He was also the Lord Leiutenant Of Breckockshire (Brecon) from 1875 to 1905 - The letter is a request for the water from the local Tyranary Field as I understand it, the owner of the well who was Sir Joseph Russell Bailey, to be able to be used by the writer to the MP at a yearly fee all detailed on the letter - It is outstanding conditon - it is folded where posted but stored in full protective plastic wallet (please note you are seeing the scan as through the wallet which is removable so the front white corner area is purely album notes and removable). You will rarely find a genuine full letter with franked penny red to accompany from leading members of Parliament of the era and this has wonderful character (you can research Joseph Russell Bailey on Wickopedia for his full history too)
