This original vintage real photo postcard from early 20th century Germany features a charming hand-colored scene of two children caring for a dachshund dog. The boy, dressed in period attire with a top hat and scarf, is offering a spoonful of medicine to the girl holding the dog, who sits on a rustic wooden chair in a cozy room with a brick fireplace. German text above reads "Schwer krank! Dies Löffelchen nimm nur noch ein, Dann wirst Du bald gesundet sein," which translates to a comforting message about recovery from illness.Printed by the reputable publisher RPH (Rud. Philippi) as indicated by the logo and series number 2861/4, this postcard measures the standard 5.5 x 3.5 inches. The back of the card shows a handwritten message in German and a postmark dated January 13, 1913, along with a green Helvetia 5-cent Swiss postage stamp. This postcard is a wonderful collectible piece for those interested in early photographic postcards, European history, or vintage children's imagery.
