Whimsical vintage Santa Claus Christmas postcard, likely 1930s–1940s, showing Santa completely overwhelmed by children hanging on him — a chaotic and humorous scene. Santa is upside-down on the card, holding a sign that reads:“My best wishes for a merry Christmas.”Children are climbing, grabbing his arms and coat, and dangling from his legs, all illustrated in bright colors with stylized clothing (peacock-pattern dress, striped skirt, short pants and boots). Santa is dressed in a red suit with heavy black fur trim, and the illustration has a lively, comic feel.Back is divided, Made in U.S.A., with a handwritten note:“To Harold Patten, From John W. Zerkle.”No stamp, likely hand-delivered or never mailed. Printed number 39 at bottom left.Condition: noticeable embossing pressure on back from the front image, light discoloration, but overall still displays well.
