ZX187x This stunning antique illustrator postcard of Tantallon Castle and Archibald Douglas The Earl Of Angus is from Victorian born historic art illustrator RP Phillimore described as one of the greatest postcard artists of his time. It was published between 110-120 years ago origin with strong browning places but very good unused condition - the ageing could be marking or ageing - it is strong and please allow but a very rare card (see scan)    RP Phillmore's postcards were notable for their distinctive sepia tone, delicate hand-coloring, and historical notes and have great unique character.  I am proud to offer one of the greatest RP Phillimore collections of its kind and please see all his other postcards at my store.
