ZX188x This stunning antique illustrator postcard of Richmond Castle is from Victorian born historic art illustrator RP Phillimore described as one of the greatest postcard artists of his time. It was published between 110-120 years ago origin - reverse has area where lifted from former album so aged and some of album remain - shows quite strong browning with age but this is of course with character - no handling at all - allowing for the above is vg grading.    RP Phillmore's postcards were notable for their distinctive sepia tone, delicate hand-coloring, and historical notes and have great unique character.  I am proud to offer one of the greatest RP Phillimore collections of its kind and please see all his other postcards at my store.
