Two men—one in overalls and the other in a suit—stand proudly beside a large steam-powered road roller on a dirt street lined with trees and telephone poles. Postmarked 1911 and sent to Geneva, New York, the card includes a handwritten message to “Aunt Em” referencing the roadwork and postcard’s subject.
