St Antony's Castle Edinburgh The Mariners Forth Beacon Phillimore Rare Postcard

NP81  This stunning antique illustrator postcard of St Anthony's Castle and which the card describes as The Beacon For The Forth Mariners is from Victorian born historic art illustrator RP Phillimore described as one of the greatest postcard artists of his time. It was published between 110-120 years ago origin and whilst just very lightly aged is otherwise excellent condition and unused too with additional medieval artwork from the publishers on reverse.    RP Phillmore's postcards were notable for their distinctive sepia tone, delicate hand-coloring, and historical notes and have great unique character.  I am proud to offer one of the greatest RP Phillimore collections of its kind and please see all his other postcards at my store.
