NP89x This stunning antique illustrator postcard of the room where King James VI was born inside Edinburgh Castle is from Victorian born historic art illustrator RP Phillimore described as one of the greatest postcard artists of his time. It was published between 110-120 years ago origin - please note the reverse has been lifted from an album and some of the page remains on the other side as residue - its also a little aged but otherwise it is very good condition indeed and seems a very scarce card.    RP Phillmore's postcards were notable for their distinctive sepia tone, delicate hand-coloring, and historical notes and have great unique character.  I am proud to offer one of the greatest RP Phillimore collections of its kind and please see all his other postcards at my store.
