Pokot Kenya Woman Ash Make Up After Circumcision 9x6 African Press Photo

CHAU4255 This is an original and official 9" x 6" personally owned press photo from David Keith Jones taken of a Pokot tribe woman he met wearing ash make up to show David she is still hearing after her female circumcision operation.  David Keith Jones (1933-2022) will always be remembered as one of the most historic photographers of kind. His deep love of travel, history, Africa and wildlife led him and his wife Carla all over Africa & the world, their travels documented by the amazing photos he took from his travels.  In 1968, he went to Kenya and started publishing photographs and articles where he taught physics for many years. Later he became a fulltime photographer & writer, and was editor of the East African wildlife society magazine 'Swara'. This photo is part of his privately sold collection and reverse has his hand frank for lifetime COA authenticity (see image 2) . There is an additional frank and I believe the handwriting is Davids too.
