NP82 This stunning antique illustrator postcard of history of the Phoenix Tower where King Charles 1st was defeated is from Victorian born historic art illustrator RP Phillmore described as one of the greatest postcard artists of his time. It was published approx 115 years ago origin and is perhaps just very lightly aged but really slight as this is otherwise unused and mint - you surely wont source better. RP Phillmore's postcards were notable for their distinctive sepia tone, delicate hand-coloring, and historical notes and have great unique character.  I am proud to offer one of the greatest RP Phillimore collections of its kind and please see all his other postcards at my store.  (It shows King Charles as his portrait and details how he stood at the foot of the Tower in 1625 to watch his army defeated).
