_The Pfalzer 1925 demonstrations took place in the German Rhineland (specifically the Palatinate region, or "Pfalz") to mark the Millennium Celebration Of The Rhinelands Afilliation with the German Empire ("Rheinische Jahrtausendfeier"). This card shows the demonstration to assert German national identity against the ongoing French occupation after World War I. The celebration in the postcard was organized to demonstrate "national sentiment" and the thousand-year history of the Rhineland as a German territory, in opposition to French influence._
