Original real photo postcard (RPPC) of Mrs. Harriet Pullen, legendary Alaskan pioneer, entrepreneur, and Gold Rush hotelier, taken in Skagway, Alaska. The sepia-toned portrait shows Mrs. Pullen dressed in an elaborate fur-trimmed garment and beadwork, standing beside a woven basket — a striking image that captures her colorful personality and frontier spirit.The postcard is captioned “Mrs. Harriet Pullen, Skagway, Alaska” and was mailed in 1927 from Prince Rupert, British Columbia, with a Canada 2¢ King George V stamp. The handwritten message on the back notes:“We stayed at her hotel & she is a very interesting person. She was here in the gold rush. I found a piece of gold worth $6.40…”Harriet Pullen (1848–1947) arrived in Skagway during the Klondike Gold Rush and became one of Alaska’s most well-known businesswomen. She famously drove a horse team over the rugged White Pass Trail, later founding the Pullen House Hotel, a luxurious stopover that hosted miners, travelers, and dignitaries.
