Item Description
Up for auction is a beautiful Real Picture Postcard RPPC From The USA . Mint never Postmarked . In Good condition. Priced to sell . Postcard depicts two white men lynched, hanged, killed, in San Jose, California on November 26, 1933. The lynched men are Thomas Thurmond and John Holmes who had been arrested for the kidnapping and murder of a wealthy local businessman.There is a lengthy Wikipedia entry about the murder and subsequent lynching, which was approved and encouraged by CAlifornia's governor at the time.
Rare and scarce piece of Americana. Contrary to media narratives, not all lynching victims were racial minorities.
