PFAS177 This is a rare opportunity to secure this antique 5.5" x 3.5" hand signed photo for Kathleen Byron in Madness Of The Heart who has personally autographed the souvenir and detailing this taken from her movie Madness Of The Heart (see scan) in great condition (ex-/ex) and undedicated too (her signature itself is engraved but faded so cannot be seen easily on the scan but where she has wrote of the film in her handwriting is very predominant). A very early autographed souvenir and you surely wont find a better autograph listing for this historic actress anywhere.
_"...Madness of the Heart is a 1949 British drama film directed by Charles Bennett, produced by Richard Wainwright for Two Cities Films and starring Kathleen Byron, Margaret Lockwood, Maxwell Reed, and Paul Dupuis. The screenplay was written by Charles Bennett, adapted from the novel of the same name by Flora Sandström._
_Kathleen Byron said in an interview on the making of the film "We did a lot of swimming around in a tank in the studio at Denham. I didn't actually do the riding sequences in the south of France; they had a young boy with a wig on them doing them. Margaret Lockwood wasn't very easy to work with. I know from other people she can be very charming and sweet but I'm afraid our relationship was never very cordial. Desmond Dickson was the cameraman.... and he said to me one say, 'You're only allowed close ups in profile or if your face is distorted in anger but we're getting around it!' Margaret had a great deal of power then and she certainly influenced which takes or prints could be used.."_
