zx187 This stunning antique illustrator postcard of a Herring Boat at The Craig with a sailing boat passing and a further Herring Boat ahead is from Victorian born historic art illustrator RP Phillimore described as one of the greatest postcard artists of his time. It was published between 110-120 years ago - Please note this is the rare Happy Christmas version from the publishers that is scarce but it does have a small lower left piece missing and whilst tiny it is evident with a small fault there too (and mild middle impression) otherwise  very good used condition (vg minus grading)    RP Phillmore's postcards were notable for their distinctive sepia tone, delicate hand-coloring, and historical notes and have great unique character.  I am proud to offer one of the greatest RP Phillimore collections of its kind and please see all his other postcards at my store.
