According to wikipedia: (more at site) the german fleet association (dfv) was an association of individuals and associations who wanted to work politically towards an expansion of the fleet of the german reich. He had a significant influence on navalist politics in the german empire. It was founded on 30 april 1898 in berlin and existed until its dissolution by the national socialists in december 1934. From 1919 to 1931 it operated under the name deutscher seeverein. The purpose of this fleet association was to awaken and cultivate the understanding and interest of the german people in the importance and tasks of the imperial navy and to take care of the members of the fleet if the legislation and administration of the german reich could not guarantee sufficient care. F. Conrad kummel / ferdinand kuemmel (1879-1958) exchanged postcards with collectors all over the world for many decades. Sent 1902, undivided back with surface creasing at top right area, bottom right corner crease, some scuffing /wear to face, corner bumping/wear and toning. Fair condition.
