The famous RPPC of Hitler in the crowd cheering for WWI. There are a couple of versions of this card -- this is the one that has the scene as shown in the 1933 propaganda cigarette book Deutschland Erwacht!, which has this exact photo on a collectible 4x6 card. Only the second card of either type I've ever found. This is from the outbreak of WWI showing Hitler in a crowd in the Odeonplatz in Munich when the outbreak of the war was announced -- it's hard to believe in retrospect, but when WWI started, massive crowds in Germany and Austria cheered the impending slaughter, since it was 'obvious' they would quickly crush the French, British, and Russians and take all of their colonies. Anyway, this scene had always been regarded as genuine until 2010, when a scholar reported it as likely altered by Hoffmann in the 20's or 30's to introduce a patriotic Hitler. But since then, a period used copy has been found establishing Hitler and the 1914 date, changing hands for five figures. A Nazi-era reproduction is also available which has a circle around Hitler, and a 'balloon' above, enlarging his face for clear view. This card has a red arrow in pen at the upper left, I believe pointing to the original sender ("this is me here!") and then another with an arrow pointing down to Hitler. Interestingly the reverse has the notation "26. Juli 1914!" -- perhaps there was another rally before the war? This is the day Austria broke off relations with Serbia, and war was thought -- correctly -- to be imminent. Absolutely original period photo in top condition.

However, most of our business is in Europe or further abroad -- and we can do nothing if a foreign customs agency holds a package for a month or if the USPS takes three weeks to get a package out of the country (yes, both of these things have happened more than once). We are professional, full-time dealers in business for many years, and we treat your lots with care and consideration in a timely manner. Sp, when rating our shipping time, please look at the postmark and see how quick we sent it, not how long the postal services took to deliver.
