Item Description

The 1936 Berlin Olympics saw the use of decorative telegrams, known as "Olympia-Schmuckblatt-Telegramme", produced by Deutsche Reichspost. These telegrams, printed by Erasmusdruck in Berlin, featured a decorative cover and were available for various occasions, including congratulatory messages and general correspondence. On the front cover, the telegrams were adorned with gold metallic ink, featuring elements such as the Brandenburg Gate and one of the Olympic rings, and part of the wreath was printed in gold metallic ink. The Olympic bell on the back panel also has gold metallic ink. Posted by Hertha Emst on 12 August 1936 from Charlottenburg Berlin. A4 sized with slight brown marks on the upper left rear page, otherwise in excellent condition for a rare and very collectible nearly 90-year-old vintage telegram.
