This is an incredible slice of history - the original guestbook from the Carmel Green Lantern Inn in Carmel by the Sea California. This old fashioned boutique hotel was originally built by William Billinger as a series of six cottages in 1927. This is the original guestbook from the hotel with signatures from the 1920s, 1930s and right up 'til around World War II. There are hundreds of signatures from guests from Hollywood, Berkeley, Redondo Beach, Los Angeles and many towns in the San Francisco Bay Area and even as far away as New York. There are letters, poems from Honeymooners, people seeking respite and healing and there are two entries from a Pauline Hudson from Hollywood who we believe was a famous actress in the 1930s - though we are not certain it is the same person. This is a great slice of history from this region and period of time.
