For sale is a beautiful antique colorized printed postcard featuring the Free Library in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England. This historic Grade I listed building originally served as the home of Shrewsbury School from 1550 until 1882 and is the alma mater of the famous naturalist Charles Darwin. In the foreground, you can see the bronze statue of Darwin, which was unveiled in 1897 to commemorate his scientific achievements. The architecture is a stunning example of 16th and 17th-century craftsmanship using Grinshill stone. The image captures the library at a time when it also housed the town museum.
