nr29 Antique postcard of German soprano Annie Gura-Hummel (1884-1964) some ageing to reverse (lightly age faded to front) otherwise pristine - ex minus grading and a very scarce souvenir.
_Her career began with a commitment at the Stadttheater von Elberfeld (1906-07), after which she sang at the Hoftheater Schwerin (1907-10). Then she came to the Hamburg City Theater (opera house), where she debuted in 1909 as Micaela in "Carmen" and remained until 1910.he was 1913-16 at the Court Theater of Dessau, 1916-20 at the Opera House of Leipzig, 1920-22 at the Municipal Theater of Freiburg i. Br. Engaged. In 1911 she was a guest at the Covent Garden Opera London, where she created the goose-girl in the English premiere of Humperdinck's "King's Children"; she also sang the same part in 1912 in Amsterdam. In 1913 she sang, again at the Covent Garden Opera, Annina in the British premiere of the "Rosenkavaliers," while Hermann Gura took over the role of Faninal and directed the performance. In 1917 she sang the title role at the Leipzig Opera House in the world premiere of the opera "Sappho" by Hugo Kaun. In the years 1920-27 Annie Gura-Hummel still performed during the direction of her husband Eugen Gura at the Finnish National Opera in Helsinki, including in 1921 as Isolde in "Tristan"._
