1939 German American Bund Rally Madison Square Garden NY USA

Up for auction is a beautiful Real picture postcard RPPC from USA by Hauser in Astoria, New York. Mint never Posted , Very Good condition . Postcard depicts members of the German American Bund at their infamous rally, attended by some 20,000 supporters of Germany, at Madison Square Garden in New York City, USA.A pivotal moment in America's prewar isolationist movement. Some 100,000 protesters were outside the building which was protected by police. PBS has video footage of the rally. Not long afterwards the Bund was lagrely defunct due to the start of WW2, the arrest and imprisonment of its leaders and increasing anti German sentiment.Extremely rare and unusual postcard. Very few postcards remain of the German Bund and the rarely come on the market. Very scarce piece of American political history. This is the third time I have seen this one in 20 years of being a postal history dealer.
